Understanding immigration and its effects
The start of our research, is the realities of immigration and its impact on families seeking a better life. We aim to shed light on the harmful effects of immigration processes and how immigration status can significantly impact immigrant families lives.

The immigrant experience and impact of it
Immigration can be a challenging and often harmful experience for those seeking a better life in the United States. The process itself can be fraught with difficulties, leading to emotional and psychological distress.
Through research of the article by the authors, Nogueira, Ana Luiza, and Ioana Schmidt, Latinos are the largest group in the United States and they experience mental health just like everyone else but they receive less services as others. Especially for immigrants they suffer with lack of insurance, money problems, and their status. Many hispanics believe in their privacy and religion in a way of coping their problems. Seeking professional help is viewed as being weak and being less of a person. For immigrants its a huge issue they deal with extra challenges like immigration status, fear of being deported, language, and economic wise. There are many resources that many hispanics can take advantage of like for example, Project Esperanza they use cultural, faith based workshops to improve mental health and let others know that they are not alone in this journey.

Immigration status can have a significant impact on an individual's mental and emotional well-being. It can lead to discrimination, limited access to resources, and increased vulnerability to mental health issues and poverty. Understanding this connection is crucial for creating supportive policies and providing adequate resources.

Creating change together
We aim to make a feeling of understanding and inspire action to help immigrants facing these challenges. By raising awareness and fostering empathy, we can work together to advocate for fair treatment, improve access to resources, and support the mental health of immigrants in the U.S.
